The village of Sorèze
Our campsite is just a two-minute walk from the center of Sorèze. This village is located at the foot of the Montagne Noire forest massif and near the Lauragais plain. Sorèze is at the heart of the golden triangle near: Toulouse, Albi, Carcassonne, Castelnaudary and Castres.
The medieval village of Sorèze offers monuments and museums to visit:
- The Abbey School and its Glass Museum,
- Saint-Martin Bell Tower
- The multi-hundred-year-old Saint-Jammes Beech
- The Berniquaut Oppidum
North
Castres is to be visited with its houses on the Agout and its garden of the Bishop's Palace.
Lautrec is a medieval village that will surprise you with its windmill, its Saint-Rémy collegiate church, its ramparts and its pink garlic.
Mazamet will charm you with its bourgeois houses, its castle and the rise of the Passerelle.
Discover Albi with its Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, the Fashion Museum and the archeocrypt of Sainte-Sigolène.
South
Visit Castelnaudary, you will meet artisans working with clay, you will eat cassoulet and you will see the port of the Grand Bassin.
Continue with the discovery of Carcassonne and the visit of the Château Comtal, the Saint-Nazaire Basilica, the Pont-Vieux and the Bastide Saint-Louis.
To the East
Reach the village of Revel, located less than 6 kilometers from our campsite. You will appreciate its Bastide Royale, its hall, its corbelled houses, its half-timbered facades and its market.
In less than an hour, you will be in Toulouse. Stroll through the Ville Rose and discover: Place du Capitole, Saint-Sernin Basilica, quays of the Garonne, slaughterhouses, Jardin des Plantes and Augustins museum.
